For many musicians and singers, drugs – weed specifically – are known to open the mind to bring out their creativity. They say that drugs and music go hand in hand, which is probably why some of the world’s greatest musicians and popular music artists credit weed as their muse. Some of them even openly advocate the use and legalization of the herb. Here are five people from the music industry who have been known to be cannabis fans:

1. Rihanna

Rihanna has never been shy about her love for cannabis. She has admitted to smoke weed, and there were even paparazzi photos of her smoking a blunt. When the photos surfaced, no one was surprised. If you follow her on Instagram, she has actually posted a lot of photos of her lighting up with her friends. There are even rumors floating around that she will soon release her own brand of weed, which will be called “MaRihanna.”

2. Snoop Dogg

A list of music artists who smoke weed would never be complete without this titan. This popular rapper has been closely associated with weed; after all, he was the one who told people to smoke weed every day. Snoop Dogg released his first music in the early 90s, and many of his fans (and casual listeners) admitted to lighting up to his tunes ever since. The rapper is also famous for lighting up a blunt in almost every single music video he has made. Aside from that, Snoop Dogg is known to have invested in different types of media for weed, including a TV show, book, and website. He has also released his own brand of cannabis called Leafs by Snoop.

3. Madonna

The Queen of Pop has initiated a lot of movements, and one of them is being pro-cannabis. While there are many artists whom you may think of first when it comes to weed, she is actually one of the popular ones to openly admit to smoking weed. She uses marijuana to enhance her creativity, and she confessed many times that she smokes it often.

4. Miley Cyrus

Just like Rihanna, the pop star surprised no one after she posted photos of herself lighting up on Instagram. It is no secret that Miley Cyrus does not discriminate against a form of smoking. She has pictures of herself using bongs, blunts, papers, bubblers, and almost every kind that you can imagine. Mike Will Made It, the music producer, even proclaimed that Miley consumed more weed in a week than the rappers he knows.

5. Louis Armstrong

While weed is mostly popular among music artists in pop, RnB, and rap, it seems like it also touches every music genre out there. Louis Armstrong was known for his trumpet skills and for offering jazz music to the public. Aside from that, he was also talking about the benefits of the herb. According to him, the first time he smoked weed was after he left Fletcher Henderson Orchestra, which was the most popular African-American jazz band back in the 20s.

Because marijuana is known to have great effects when it comes to opening the mind and enhancing a person’s creativity, these music artists may not have made half of their hits without the help of weed.
