We are almost ready to introduce 2 new strains. Being the development phase already completed many months ago, the tests have given the results that we were expecting. The seeds are currently in production and they will be ready in the late autumn 2011, when we will introduce the catalog for 2012. One of these 2 strains is a feminized one, a white-sativa, very uplifting. The other one will be an autoflowering,the third of our collection, and will bring more harvest and a more fruity taste than the existing 2. Just a couple of months of more patience guys

It begins today, 3 june, at the Metro Toronto Convention Center (North Building Hall A) the second edition of the Annual Treating Yourself Expo. We will be at the booth Ministry of Cannabis, # 631. Come to visit us at the fair, along with more than 100 cannabis all around exhibitors. A great news of this year is that this event will also have a facility-approved 4,000 square foot vapor lounge to accommodate medical marijuana patients. There will also be a serie of lectures about growing, medical marijuana etc, and good live music. If in Toronto or Ontario, this weekend you can’t really miss!!!
The end of may is maybe the best moment for starting an outdoor growing. The cold whether and the frost are just a memory in most of the countries. Further, there is light enough, and the days are long enough to avoid a premature spring flowering.
This is a fantastic period to grow, and it is the best for the autoflowering: in outdoor the quantity and quality of the harvest is greatly influenced by the amount of light received, expressed both as number of hours of sunlight per day and intensity of the light itself. Starting now will insure that the plant will flower during the months of june and july. In this way the seeds can develop the 100% of their potential.
The normal strains instead, have more than enough time (about 2 full months) to develop a large and robust structure able to sustain the weight of hundreds of grams of buds, in some cases, like the Big Bud XXL up to 1 kg. If you desire plants that are more low and compact, you can wait another few weeks: in this way, given that all the normal strains will flower in the begin of august, they will have less time to grow.
If you leave in a “cold” place, we suggest you the Early XXX. If you leave in the continental Europe, or in a mountain area, an indica will be the one for you (Kandahar, Big Bud XXL, Northern Lights) or a Nepalese Dragon. If you live in a temperate-warm climate, you can grow basically all our strains, included the sativa’s.

Finally the winter is over, the days become longer, the temperature warmer, and it’s now the time to plan your outdoor strategy for this year. Here at the Ministry we have a whole catalog of seeds that can be used outdoor, but today we will concentrate our attention to 2 strain in particular, Early XXX and Devilmatic. These are our first choices for the outdoor in continental and northern Europe and north America. Early XXX can be planted from the begin of april till the begin of july. The earlier you start, the biggest the plants become and the largest the harvest that they produce. If you can afford to grow big plants, yo can start immediately with germination. For all the strains, we suggest to let the seedlets grow for about 2 weeks in indoor, before to transplant them outdoor. If you want a early harvest, you can use our Devilmatic. If you germinate the seeds in the begin of april, you transplant them out in mid-april, you can harvest already in the begin of june, just on time for the summer. A very green summer.
Many friends write to us and ask info about the actual situation in the coffeshops of Holland, and Amsterdam in particular. Many people are afraid that the coffeshops are gonna close soon, and the international press publish often alarmist articles in this sense, with little or no truth inside. There are only a few limitations that have been introduced in the last few years. The first have to do with the countries at the border of the Nethelrands, they press to get a “no coffeshop belt” around the borders, of about 30 km. That is to fight the marijuana tourists. This belt is about 30 km wide. The second limitation, valid in the whole country, but still not completed, forbid to open or to keep opened a coffeshop if there is a school in the neighborhood within 250 mt. Many coffeshops in the centers will be in the next few years relocated, farest from the schools but not closed. Further, since 1 july 2009, smoking tobacco indoor in a public place is forbidden, so you can smoke a pure joint, but not a mix with tobacco. However, many coffeshops now encourage the use of vaporizers, with great advantages for your health and for the taste.
