Canadian soldiers need munchies

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Canadian troops are operating since a few years in Afghanistan. They have a problem with cannabis, that is now replacing opium field. The Weird part is the don’t have a problem because cannabis is a drug. They have a problem with the plant. The tall cannabis plants grow higher than their vehicles, and talibans use them to  prepare ambushes against them. So they try to burn a few field, even with the help of some diesel fuel but, nothing to do, the plants were really wet. With one exception. “A few plants at the edge of the forest were slightly drier and brown. They caught fire and burnt for a while,” said Gen. Rick Hillier. “Unfortunately, they had one of our rifle sections of 10 men slightly down-wind from that. We couldn’t keep up with the orders for munchies.”

Forbes magazine shows the most exotic brands of marijuana

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

The magazine Forbes is a well known finalcial magazine, and for this reason we were particularly surprised in reading this article. Saabira Chaudhuri explores a few famous cannabis strains, like Haze, Jack Herer, OG Kush, Sour Diesel and a few others. The characters of these plants are introduced in the way usually deserved to the famous wines. For once, no polemics on marijuana or drugs, just a descriptions of how the things are. And in this case, the reality is juicy and it smells and tastes delicious.  It seems that on the American market, these top strains have a price of 25-30 dollars per gram. Nice article btw.

Ron Paul: is our world going to change?

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

On the Ministry of Cannabis blog, we sometime speak about politic, but, of course, we don’t take the side. Today we wanna speak about mr.Ron Paul, and it’s difficult for us do not appreciate his ideas and his vision of the future. The american president is a weird figure outside US. Only 200 million people on the planet have the right to vote for him, but its influence in the life of every world’s citizen is greater than national government. For these reasons, we greet with respect the choice of mr Paul. Today we wanna link to an interview of him, when he speak about marijuana, medical and non medical, and freedom of choice in general. Now we expect that you win, mr Paul, and put all these beautiful words in practice.

The biggest bullshit about marijuana that we have ever read

Friday, November 9th, 2007

This morning we were surprised to read this article. The are thousands or millions of bullshits and fake myths about cannabis and marijuana nowadays. But we couldn’t imagine that a group of supposed “scientists” arrive to this conclusion, that the genes that “The genes that make you prone to illegal drug abuse are different from those that cause dependence on legal substances like alcohol and nicotine”. Obviously, why we didn’t think about it before? The people that make laws do nothing else than reflecting what our bodies already knows, illegal drugs are bad! And politicians don’t care about the money that they receive by lobbies and corporations, they only care about our health.  Maybe they should explain to us what kind of substances they were using during these research, but not into the test tube, but on themselves!

Arnold Schwarzenegger says marijuana is not a drug

Monday, October 29th, 2007

California governor Schwarzenegger said last week, during an interview with GQ that marijuana is just a leaf. “That is not a drug. It’s a leaf,” Schwarzenegger told GQ. “My drug was pumping iron, trust me.” This discussion started  for a photo dated 1977, where the future california governor was a bodybuilder champion. In that pic Schwarzenegger was shown smoking a joint in the documentary “Pumping Iron.”

Iron Arnold has acknowledged using marijuana in the 1970s. The interview will be make public in the december issue of the popular magazine GQ, but we know already that it contains other interesting sentences about drugs and politicians: in particular Schwarzenegger has shown its point of view on it, saying that he prefers the politician that is able to take good decisions for his community, and that element like drug use should stay out of the evaluation of that politician.

County in Montana stops marijuana arrests

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Missoula is a little county in Montana,USA. In november 2006 the population has approved an initiative asking law enforcement to ignore adult marijuana offenses. Now the County Attorney, that was an oppositor of this request, he has finally developed a policy to uphold the voters’ intentions. Now if you are catched in Missoula County with a little amount of marijuana or with parafernalia, and you are an adult, you are not going to be arrested.

“In the interest of compliance with the 2006 voter initiative on marijuana […] we are asking law enforcement officers to stop arresting individuals or writing and submitting tickets (with mandatory appearance dates) where the offense committed is solely possession of marijuana in misdemeanor amounts or possession of drug paraphernalia intended for use of marijuana […]”.

Without any doubt, a good news for a strongly prohibitionist country like US.
