3 marijuana enemies and how to get rid of them

Marijuana pests and diseases are one of the biggest problems encountered by growers and can cause huge amounts of damage to your plants if not treated immediately. Unfortunately, they are not the only enemies of the marijuana cultivator…

All kinds of problems plague the grower life, but most fall into one of three distinct categories: human, microbiological or insect.

The good new is that by following simple security measures and keeping the garden clean most problems can be avoided.

Check here 3 types of marijuana enemies and find out how to prevent them:

# 1. Human

secret

Humans come in many forms and are the most dangerous kind of predator in the cannabis jungle, believe it!

People involved in law enforcement are the worst kind. But, unfortunately, there are also thieves, “friends” and blabber-mouths who can really annoy growers.

The only real form of defense? Never, we said NEVER, tell anyone, not even your best friend, that you are growing.

Every time you tell someone about your garden, you should assume you have just told ten people. You may consider the person to be trustworthy, but this good friend may end up “accidentally” telling another friend who ends up being less than trustworthy.

Having said that, always remember to keep your mouth shut!

Also make sure to keep the air in your house odor-free with a good ventilation system, ion generators and deodorizers.

# 2. Microbiological

The microbiological enemy is an invisible alliance of fungus, bacteria, mold and viral armies. The worst time to develop a microbiological problem is during the flowering period, when the buds and colas of the plant are easily rotted.

Disinfecting the garden area and supplies before using them is the first line of defense against these pests. Follow this action with other preventative measures, such as the use of a proper ventilation system that vigorously circulates and exchanges the garden air.

Dead leaves and organic debris are a veritable breeding ground for fungus and mold. A few leaves cluttered in a corner or hanging from a lower branch could saturate a crop with spores and rot the buds before your very eyes. Remove the debris as soon as you see it so it won’t become a problem.

Viral infections can come from contaminated soil or manure fertilizes. Never reuse soils and mediums, and always sanitize containers between crops.

# 3. Insects

marijuana pests

Insects are a big plague, prepared to do everything to stay in your garden. Spider mites, aphids, fungus gnats, whiteflies, thrips and lice, are among the menagerie of critters that may try to attack your marijuana plants.

To scape this situation, start with an aggressive front line defense: prevent flying insects from gaining a foothold b y installing a good ventilation system. Crawling insects are usually very hard to see until they begin doing severe damage to your plants, so use a magnifying glass to inspect the plants routinely, and deal with any infiltrators promptly.

Sticky traps placed around your grow room are a good way to control flying insects and can also be an early detector of a possible infestation. Regular inspection of your plants is your best weapon. Check under the leaves as well as the tops. Spots or discoloration of your leaves may indicate feeding insects.

Tip 1: Insecticide spray

If you can, use a natural organic spray because is safer for the plants, the environment and your lungs. Organic sprays are very common and well stocked in garden supply shops. Always use sprays that are free of weed killer and also don’t bring any problem for human use.

Tip 2: Strain

There are strains that are more hardy and resistant to marijuana pests. Growing weed strains like Northern Lights, Big Bud and The Cheese give you a greater chance of not encountering the problems highlighted below.
